Deliverance

DELIVERANCE
The devil has come to steal, kill and destroy, John 10:10, but Jesus came to give us eternal life, and included in this package is our deliverance from the powers of darkness. Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so that by His death, He might break the power of him who holds the power of death-that is, the devil- and free those who all their loves were held in slavery by their fear of death. Heb 2:14-15(NIV).
So many people are being held in bondage by the powers of darkness for various reasons. In many cases, fear is a major contributory factor because fear is a spirit that opens the door to other negative spirits. Perhaps fear has become a stronghold in your life, or maybe you find yourself dealing with other negative spirits hindering your walk with the Lord; it’s time to be set free.

LET'S PRAY

Thank you, father, for the opportunity to come boldly before your throne of grace that I may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Lord, I come before you today and ask for your help to be delivered from the spirit of ………………(whatever you need to be delivered from).

I put on your whole armour according to Ephesians chapter 6 that I may be able to resist the enemy, and having done all; please help me to stand.

Read Ephesians 6: 11-24 for the whole armour of God.

Thank you, Lord, for answering my prayers and please help me to be sensitive to your spirit at all times, so I don’t fall prey to the enemy in my unguarded moments. I will watch the company I keep and will be careful to protect my heart and thoughts in Jesus name. Amen

Scriptures on Deliverance

The righteous cry and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:17(KJV)

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Psalm 50:15 (KJV)

I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4(KJV)

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. Psalm 107:6 (KJV)

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart…” – Psalm 91:1-4 (NIV)

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” – Ephesians 6:13 (NIV)

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” – Colossians 1:13-14 (NIV)

The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” – 2 Timothy 4:18 (NIV)

Now, we may need to ask others to pray along with us in some cases, and if you find yourself in this situation, please don’t feel ashamed. It doesn’t make you any less of a believer. Sometimes we need some extra support from other believers to get us out of a very dark place until we're able to stand on our own in the place of prayer. But please note that asking others to join us in prayer isn’t a quick fix. We’d need to ensure on our part that we stay filled with the word of God after we’ve been delivered because the devil will be back to check things out. When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Luke 11:24-26 So, stay blessed and stay safe, but more importantly, stay in the word of God!

“Believers need to exercise their authority over the powers of darkness to experience a change in their circumstances. Nothing changes just by longing for a change.”
